Purpose

If you are unable to identify an ACR Common ID that is a sufficient explanation for your exam, use the Build Your Own Mapping feature to request a new ACR Common ID.

The Build Your Own Mapping feature is only available for fluoroscopy and digital radiography exams at this time.  This is not available for CT exams.

Steps to Build Your Own Mapping

  1. Access the Exam Name Mapping Tool in the NRDR Portal and select the modality Projection X-ray.

  2. Select the box next to one or more Study Description | Requested Procedure Description

  3. Click on Build your own mapping multiple button at the bottom of the page

  4. Select Predicate and Values from dropdown menus and click ADD Tag

  5. Repeat Step 3 until all desired predicates and values are added

  6. When complete, close the Build Your Own Mapping window by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The exam will now have a Tagging in Progress status.

Note: Exams in the Tagging in Progress status will not be used in facility comparison reports until they are manually mapped to an ACR Common ID.

Please review your build your own mapping values.  If after review you would like to add more values, you can click on the Build your own mapping action to add a single value or click on Build you own mapping multiple button to add multiple values.

To complete the tagging process, you can request a new ACR Common ID.  Once the new ACR Common ID is approved, you can manually map the exam to the new ACR Common ID.

Add a Comment

To explain the need for a new ACR Common ID, you can use the comment box to provide a short rationale.  The review and acceptance process will go faster for requests accompanied by an explanation.

To add a comment, click on the Comments button and a comment box appears.  Type your comment in the bottom box and then click on Add Comments.

To see your comment, click on the Comments button again, and your comments will appear in the top box along with the date and time that you made your comments.

Mark Section as Common ID Requested

After you have reviewed your own mapping and provided a comment explaining the need for a new ACR Common ID, you are ready to request a new ACR Common name.

Submitted request(s) will be reviewed and approved by the ACR Common committee before being available for use in the mapping lexicon.

Select the box next to one or more Study Description | Requested Procedure Description.  Click the Mark selection as Common ID Requested button.  A message will appear notifying you that the exam status has been changed to Common ID Requested.
