Lung Cancer Screening Registry (LCSR) Start-up Guide

Thank you for your interest in joining the Lung Cancer Screening Registry (LCSR)!  We hope this step-by-step Start-up Guide helps you to get underway with submitting your data and to obtain the most value out of your registry participation.

The NRDR Team welcomes suggestions for how we can improve this guide and your overall experience with LCSR start up and ongoing participation. Please send your suggestions and comments to [email protected].

The LCSR Features Knowledge Base article provides the rationale for LCSR participation. Also, hear about the benefits of LCSR participation from LCSR Committee Chair Charles White, MD. View the video.

        1. Assemble Your Team

Bringing together a team comprised of individuals who can contribute varied expertise will help ensure a seamless launch and continued operation of the LCSR at your institution. Examples of potential roles are briefly described below.

  1. Physician Championthoracic radiologist, pulmonologist,…
  2. Nurse Navigator: manages patient communications…
  3. Data Coordinator: enters case data into the LCSR registry. This individual typically has access to medical records including imaging reports from which data points are extracted. Depending on your practice, you may find that a CT technologist, nurse navigator, or other program coordinator may be the best fit for this role on your team.
  4. NRDR Administrator(s): manages accounts and assigns NRDR user roles as described in the following NRDR Knowledge Base articles.  If your facility participates in another NRDR registry, your NRDR corporate administrator or facility administrator can help with the set up.
    1. Facility Accounts and Profiles
    2. Identify Corporate Account and Facility Administrators

        2. Complete the Application Process and Create an NRDR Account

Facilities new to NRDR wishing to participate in the LCSR must complete the application process.  NRDR Knowledge Base articles provide step-by-step instructions.

  1. Items You’ll Need to Register
  2. The Application Process

Note: If a facility already has an NRDR account, only an addendum to the existing participation agreement is needed to register for the LCSR Registry. See how to add the LCSR Registry to your facility registration. Facilities already participating in the Dose Index Registry (DIR) or General Radiology Improvement Database (GRID) can join the LCSR at no additional cost.

        3. Get Your Team Signed Up with ACR Login

Team members who will need to access the NRDR portal to manage accounts, enter data or review performance reports will need ACR Login credentials.   ACR Login enables users to enter their login credentials one time on a single page to access their ACR applications.

Certain ACR Login applications, such as NRDR, require Multifactor Authentication (MFA). MFA requires users to enter additional information when logging in for enhanced data security, making it harder for user accounts to become compromised.

Read the Knowledge Base article ACR Login and Multifactor Authentication for more information.

        4. Become Familiar with Options for Submitting Data

Before entering case or exam data, review the Knowledge Base article LCSR Data Submission Overview to learn about the three options for uploading data.

If you encounter technical issues with setup or need assistance, please open a ticket with NRDR Support.

        5. Review Your Reports

Review the LCSR Registry Available Reports Knowledge Base article to become familiar with the reports that can help you confirm the data submitted is correctly recorded in the database and to review your facility’s results.

Note: Facilities using the data file upload method to submit their data can review their upload results using the online Upload Error Report.
